Discover Enchanted River in Hinatuan Surigao - It is bounded on the east by the Pacific Ocean and only a few nautical miles off the Philippine deep. Hinatuan has a number of fringing reefs, isolated coral areas and coral atolls near surrounding coastal and offshore islands. It has 8 fish sanctuaries located at Barangays, Tidman, Loyola, Municipal Sanctuary (Barangay Poblacion), San Juan Mahaba Island, Talisay, Cambatong, and Port Lamon. Hinatuan Surigao del Sur is located at the mouth of the Hinatuan River at the eastern seacoast of Northeastern Mindanao.
This town is blessed with a hidden treasure, a stunning blue lagoon within a mountainside and protectively covered by a forest. The locals consider it enchanted, hence called an Enchanted River. The river’s depth, particularly the dark blue portion, is estimated to be around 24 meters (80 feet). The River is full of rich marine fishes of different varieties but no one is said to have ever caught one.
